Frequently Asked Questions

General

Q.
Does Vouch do contract/contract-to-hire?
A.
No, Vouch only fills permanent placement roles.
Q.
How does the charitable match work?
A.
When a candidate chooses to donate a portion of their placement fee to a qualifying 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Vouch will donate a matching contribution of 25% of the amount they donate. This amount is deducted from the candidate's pay before Vouch pays the candidate, so the candidate cannot claim this deduction on their own taxes.

Candidate / Recommender

Q.
When do I get paid?
A.
These details could vary on your specific contract with Vouch, but typically after 90 days of being employed at the company you gained employment with through Vouch. That company must also have paid their placement fee for you to get paid.
Q.
Does Vouch withhold taxes?
A.
No, Vouch doesn't withhold any taxes, so you will need to check with your accountant to see if/how you pay taxes on this income. Vouch will send you a form 1099 at the end of the tax year for filing with the IRS.
Q.
Can I use Vouch as a candidate multiple times in a year?
A.
We started Vouch to improve the hiring process, and create a more equitable process for everyone involved. So, only in rare cases could we see this as a possibility. Additionally, we will disclose to employers if you have used our platform to secure employment in the past year.

Employer

Q.
What's stopping candidates from "job-hopping" every 90 days to get the bonus?
A.
Nothing. However, there are several reasons this is not a common practice.
1. They start building an "unstable" work history with this type of pattern, which can discourage hiring.
2. Vouch will disclose to the employer if the candidate is repeatedly using Vouch for this type of behavior.
3. This type of activity will negatively affect their recommender's reputation on the platform.
Q.
What is Vouch's refund policy for candidates that leave before 90 days of employment?
A.
Vouch offers 100% refund for any candidate placed via Vouch and is terminated under just cause or voluntary resignation.
